        We were a little disappointed that the slugs and snails devoured a lot of our crops. We did however get some strawberries, fennel and potatoes. Miss Quin collected these over the summer and sampled them, she said they were delicious.

      We have tried more fruit and vegetables lately. We have tried beetroot, asparagus, mango and physalis. They have been interesting and not everyone liked them. The physalis tasted a little like a bitter tomato. The beetroot had an earthy taste. The mango was very sweet and the asparagus was like peas.
